During the Scientology media coverage surrounding Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's divorce, I saw several videos of the cult's "Squirrel Squad" as they harrassed ex-members with insults, cameras and trespassing (the church calls defectors "squirrels"!). Then I ran across this funky sweater on Amazon and had to have it. The colors and visuals are weird enough to either work ("cool squirrels"!) or tank ("WTF is up with the pink squirrels"?!). Thankfully, it totally rocks!I got an XL because I'm a 5'7", 150lb, large-chested woman and not a "junior" size and the sizing is perfect. The colors are vibrant and unordinary (but right on trend for the Spring 2012 season), the acrylic fabric cuddly and smooth, and the button-up collar quite versatile in its options (you can button it all the way up the neck or wear it off the shoulders). I LOVE IT!I cross-stitched "Operating Squirrel" in pink yarn on the back (parodying Scientology's highest member level, "Operating Thetan," AND found pink and gray acorn lapel pins to wear in front of the squirrels' paws!! I searched Amazon forever to find both a grey shirt (District Made Women's V-Neck T-Shirt With Button Detail) and a dusty pink shirt (Carhartt Women's Lightweight Long Sleeve V-Neck Tshirt) to wear underneath. It's gonna be a FUN Fall and Winter!Fast facts: The sweater MUST be drycleaned; no way will it withstand a hand-washing, the weave is too loose. Also, it comes with an extra button and both grey and pink threads.
